Overview:
UBE2D3 also known as UBCH5C or ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2D3 is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family which is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. UBE2D3 is involved in RA-induced cell cycle arrest and as a mediator of all-trans retinoic acid-induced cell growth arrest in human acute promyelocytic NB4 cells. UBE2D3 functions in the ubiquitination of the tumor-suppressor protein p53, which is induced by an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase and is critical for normal cellular, tissue, and organismal physiology.
