Dihydropyrimidinase-related protein 2 (DPYSL2) is express-ed in both the CNS and PNS, playing a key role in neuronal development, axonal and neuronal growth, cell migration, and protein trafficking. Disruptions of DPYSL2 function have been implicated in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, neuropathic pain, and Batten disease, and to psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia.
