Overview:
DGKH is a type II DGK encoded by gene DGKH (1). Diacylglycerol kinases modulate the concentration of intracellular diacylglycerol by phosphorylating, producing phosphatidic acid (PA) (2). PA regulates signaling proteins, such as protein kinases and phosphatases, and can induce cell mitosis through regulation of growth factors (3). DGKH is a positive regulator of the epidermal growth factor receptor/Raf/MEK/ERK pathway. DGKH is associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, unipolar depression and schizophrenia (4).
