Overview:
Bacteriophage T4 gene 32 protein (gp32) is a single-stranded DNA binding protein with key role in DNA replication, recombination, and repair. T4 gp32 is a zinc metalloprotein with three functional domains: the N-terminal basic domain, the core domain and the C-terminal acidic domain. The ssDNA binding site lies in the core domain. In vitro, T4 gp32 binds cooperatively to single stranded DNA and stimulates cell-free DNA synthesis directed by the T4-encoded DNA polymerase (1,2)
