Overview:

Diacylglycerol kinase kappa (DGKK) is a member of the type II diacylglycerol kinase subfamily. Diacylglycerol kinases modulate the concentration of intracellular diacylglycerol by phosphorylating, producing phosphatidic acid (PA) (1). PA regulates signaling proteins, such as protein kinases and phosphatases, and can induce cell mitosis through regulation of growth factors (2). Genetic variants of DGKk are associated with hypospadias in mild and moderate Han Chinese cases (3).

Gene Aliases:

Diacylglycerol kinase kappa; DGK-kappa
