Overview:
Guanylate cyclase 2F (GUCY2F) belongs to the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase family which also includes GUCY2D. Both GUCY2F and GUCY2D are responsible for the replenishment of cGMP in photoreceptors after exposure to light and are required for the normal kinetics of photoreceptor sensitivity and recovery, although disease mutations are restricted to GUCY2D.
Gene Aliases:
CYGF, GC-F, GUC2DL, GUC2F, RETGC-2, ROS-GC2
