Overview:
RNA binding protein 2 (RanBP2) acts an E3 SUMO-protein ligase interacting with E2 ligase UBE2I to facilitate SUMO1 and SUMO2 transferring (1). RanBP2 is involved in the modification of nuclear transport by functioning together with the nuclear pore complex through sumoylation (2). Also, RanBP2 is important for the assembly of the PML by sumo conjugation at ‘Lys-490’ (3). In addition, RanBP2 facilitate the modification of HDAC4 (4).
Gene Aliases:
ADANE; ANE1; IIAE3; NUP358; TRP1; TRP2
