Overview:

IL19 belongs to the IL-10 family of proinflammatory cytokines, which is composed of IL10, IL19, IL20, IL22, IL24, and IL26. IL19 is mainly expressed in monocytes and binds to the IL20 receptor complex which leads to the activation of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). It also performs up-regulation of IL6 and TNF-alpha and apoptosis induction, thus signifying its role in inflammatory responses.

Gene Aliases:

Melanoma differentiation-association protein-like protein, NG.1

Genbank Number:

Storage, Stability and Shipping:

The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70oC. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2o - 8oC for one month, or at -20oC for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Endotoxin Level:

<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method

Molecular Weight:

18.0 kDa

Reconstitution Protocol:

Reconstitute in sterile PBS at atleast 10μg/mL

Sample Cell Assay Data:

The ED50 is 0.5-1.5 ng/mL as determined by a cell proliferation assay with the use of transfected BaF3 mouse pro-B cells with human IL-20Rα and human IL-20Rβ

Purity:

Recombinant Human IL19 resolved on a 15% SDS-PAGE gel under reducing conditions and stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250
