Overview:
Found in the gastrointestinal tract, the three Trefoil proteins, TFF1, 2, and 3 have been shown to play an important role in intestinal mucosal defence and repair. Specifically, TFF1 is essential for normal differentiation of the antral and pyloric gastric mucosa and functions as a gastric-specific tumor suppressor gene.
Genbank Number:
Storage, Stability and Shipping:
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70oC. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2o - 8oC for one month, or at -20oC for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Endotoxin Level:
<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Molecular Weight:
6.9 kDa
Gene Aliases :
TFF1, Breast cancer estrogen-inducible protein, BCEI, PNR-2, Polypeptide P1.A, Protein pS2, Recombinant Human Trefoil Factor 1 (TFF1)
Reconstitution Protocol:
Reconstitute at 100 μg/mL in sterile PBS
Sample Cell Assay Data:
The ED (50) was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of MCF7 cells and was found to be <0.5ng/mL.
