Overview:

Amphiregulin is a trans-membrane protein whose protease mediated digestion of the extracellular domain enables release of mature AR. Amphiregulin works to stimulate the proliferation of some animal keratinocyles, epithelial cells and fibroblasts. It has been shown that the mRNA expression of amphiregulin can be detected in numerous carcinoma cell lines and the epithelial cells of various human tissues, including colon, stomach, breast, ovary and kidney.

Gene Aliases:

AR, Colorectum cell-derived growth factor, CRDGF Recombinant Human Amphiregulin (AREG).

Genbank Number:

Storage, Stability and Shipping:

The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70oC. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2o - 8oC for one month, or at -20oC for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Endotoxin Level:

<1.0 EU/μg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.

Molecular Weight:

11.5 kDa

Reconstitution Protocol:

Reconstitute at 100 μg/mL in sterile PBS containing at least 0.1% human or bovine serum albumin.

Sample Cell Assay Data:

Measured in a cell proliferation assay using mouse embryonic fibroblast 3T3 cells. The ED(50) for this effect is <0.5 ng/mL.

Purity:

Recombinant Human AREG resolved on a 17% SDS_PAGE gel under reducing conditions and stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250.
