Overview:
OTUB1 (OTU domain-containing ubiquitin aldehyde-binding protein 1), as a member of the ovarian tumor (OUT) superfamily of predicted cysteine proteases (1). It specifically cleaves ubiquitin from branched lysine48-linked poly-ubiquitin chains (1). OTUB1 inhibits the synthesis of the K63-linked polyubiquitin chains through binding to the UBC13 (2). Overexpression of OTUB1 is associated to poor outcome in some breast cancer patients with chemotherapy (3).
Gene Aliases:
OTB1; OTU1; HSPC263; OTU deubiquitinase, ubiquitin aldehyde binding 1
