Overview:
HtrA (also designated as DegP) is a trypsin-like serine protease which contains PDZ domain and involves in heat-shock response, chaperone function, and apoptosis (1). HtrA is an error sensor that specifically represses genetic competence when the overall level of biosynthetic errors in cellular proteins is low (2).
