Overview:
ELK1 is a member of the ETS oncogene family of transcription factors (1). ELK1 protein interacts with promoter of the c-fos proto-oncogene and has been shown to be involved in the Ras-Raf-MAPK signaling cascade (1). Immature phosphorylation of transcription factor ELK-1 is implicated in premature aging syndrome and insulin resistance. Expression studies have revealed that elevated expression of ELK1-like protein in human esophageal can result in squamous cell carcinoma (2).

Specificity:
Recognizes the ELK1 protein
Cross Reactivity:
Western blot human ELK1
ELK1 from other species may also be detectable.
Host:
Rabbit
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 387-391 of human ELK1
Purification:
Affinity Chromatography
Stability:
Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Sample Data:
Representative Western blot with Anti-ELK1 (1:1000) using 15ng of GST-tagged human recombinant ELK1.
Sample Data:
Representative Western blot with Anti-ELK1 (1:1000) using 20μg of HeLa, 293, Jurkat and THP1cell lysates.
