Overview:

Activating transcription factor (ATF)-2, also designated CRE-BP1, is a member of the ATF/cyclic AMP-responsive element binding protein family of transcription factors. ATF2 has two unique characteristics: it mediates the adenovirus E1A-induced trans-activation and forms a heterodimer with c-Jun (1). ATF2 is a target of the JNK signal transduction pathway (2). ATF2 is phosphorylated by JNK on two closely spaced threonine residues within the NH2-terminal activation domain. The replacement of these phosphorylation sites with alanine inhibited the transcriptional activity of ATF2. Furthermore, p38 MAPK can also phosphorylate ATF2.

Specificity:

Recognizes the ATF2 protein

Cross Reactivity:

Western blot human and mouse ATF2

ATF2 from other species may also be detectable.

Host:

Rabbit

Immunogen:

Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 60-64 of human ATF2

Purification:

Affinity Chromatography

Stability:

Store at 4oC (add 0.1% NaN3) for several months, and at -20oC for longer periods. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For optimal performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Sample Data:

Representative Western blot with Anti-ATF2 (1:1000) using 10ng of GST-tagged human recombinant ATF2.

Sample Data:

Representative Western blot with Anti-ATF2 (1:1000) using 30 μg of HeLa, 293, Jurkat, THP1 and 3T6 cell lysates.
