Storage, Stability and Shipping : The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70oC. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2o - 8oC for one month, or at -20oC for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Reconstitution Protocol : A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Scientific Background : A member of the FGF family, FGF4 plays an important role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, and cell differentiation. FGF4 binds to anionic glycosaminoglycans heparin and heparin sulfate with high affinity and mediates its diverse functions through the FGF receptors (FGFR) 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4. Human FGF4 is known to exhibit cross species activity with mouse, rat, bovine and canine FGF4. Recombinant Human FGF4 is a single polypeptide of 20 kDa.
Sample Cell Assay Data : The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of mouse fibroblasts was <0.2 ng/ml.
